Terms and Conditions

  1. Services Provided
    Ground Rules Academy agrees to provide martial arts instruction and training to the Student in accordance with this Agreement.

  2. Term
    This Agreement begins on the date of submission and continues on a month-to-month basis until terminated by either party or superseded by a pre-paid promotional package.

  3. Monthly Dues
    The Student agrees to pay monthly dues of $159.00, due on the 15th of each month. The first payment, prorated from the submission date to the 15th of the next month, is due upon signing.

    A 10% discount (resulting in dues of $143.10 per month) is available for:

    • College students (with valid student ID).

    • Family plans (two or more immediate family members enrolled simultaneously).

    • First responders (e.g., police, firefighters, paramedics with valid ID).

    • Active duty military or veterans (with valid military ID or proof of service).

    Eligibility for discounts must be verified at signing, and Ground Rules Academy reserves the right to request documentation.

  4. Payment Method
    Payments must be made via debit or credit card. The Student agrees to maintain valid payment information for the duration of this Agreement.

  5. Late Payments
    A $25.00 late fee will be applied if payment is not received within 10 days of the due date. If the account remains unpaid for 30 days, Ground Rules Academy may suspend services until the account is current.

  6. Termination
    Either party may terminate this Agreement with at least 48 hours’ notice (written or verbal) before the next billing date. The Student is responsible for all dues and fees incurred up to the termination date.

  7. Refunds
    No refunds will be provided for any payments, including monthly dues or pre-paid promotional packages, upon termination.

  8. Student Responsibilities
    The Student agrees to:

    • Follow Ground Rules Academy’s etiquette and expectations, including safety, appropriate clothing, hygiene, and conduct.

    • Treat instructors and fellow students with respect.

    • Exercise ordinary care while using the Facility to protect themselves and others.

  9. Ground Rules Academy Responsibilities
    Ground Rules Academy agrees to:

    • Maintain a safe and clean training environment.

    • Offer a variety of classes to meet student needs.

  10. Liability Waiver
    The Student acknowledges that martial arts training involves physical activity and accepts all associated risks. The Student releases and holds harmless Ground Rules Academy, its instructors, and staff from liability for any injuries or damages during training or on the premises.

  11. Location
    If the Facility is unavailable due to fire, act of God, catastrophe, accident, lease expiry, or any other reason, the Student shall use the nearest alternate facility provided by Ground Rules Academy.

  12. Lost or Stolen Property
    Ground Rules Academy is not liable for any lost or stolen property of the Student or their guests.

  13. Training Schedule
    Training sessions follow the posted schedule. The Student acknowledges that sessions may be postponed due to instructor absence caused by illness, injury, or travel delays.

  14. Entire Agreement
    This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties, superseding all prior understandings, whether written or oral.

  15. Governing Law
    This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of California.

  16. Severability
    If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.

  17. Indulgences
    No failure or delay by Ground Rules Academy in enforcing any right under this Agreement constitutes a waiver. Amendments or waivers must be in writing, except as provided herein.

Electronic Signature

By checking the box below and typing my name, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. I consent to conduct this transaction electronically, and my typed name serves as my electronic signature, equivalent to a handwritten signature under California law.

Note: For minors under 18, a parent or guardian must also sign.
