BJJ for Dublin, California families

If you are in Dublin, California — the Tri-Valley one, not Ireland — we are the Pleasanton gym a lot of those families already use. We do not have a Dublin address. We train at 7034 Commerce Circle, Suite F, Pleasanton, CA 94588, on the west Pleasanton side of the I-580 corridor.

Dublin has been a growth city for years: new neighborhoods, BART on the 580 spine, families who want a kids class that is not a babysitting gym and an adult class that will still take a nervous first-timer. I built the academy for that mix.

Why west Pleasanton is the convenient one

Commerce Circle sits in Pleasanton, close to the interchange Dublin drivers already use. From most of Dublin you are not crossing the entire valley; you are dropping toward I-580 / I-680 and looking for Suite F. BART riders on the Dublin/Pleasanton line are on the same west-side pattern — the academy is a Pleasanton building, not a station-adjacent retail pad, but it is the west-Pleasanton gym, not an east-side errand.

I won’t pretend we have a Dublin address. Suite F in Pleasanton is the gym.

What Dublin families actually join

Parents usually ask two questions: where do the kids go, and where do I go.

Ages 5–7 go to BJJ Sprouts — movement, coordination, grappling games, supervised light sparring. Ages 8–13 go to BJJ Buds — more technique and strategy, still age-appropriate, with supervised sparring. Teens and adults start in Fundamentals. That is the class you take on night one. Advanced when you are ready. Open Mat if you want extra rounds; drop-ins welcome there.

Youth and adult descriptions, plus the current gi / no-gi grid, are on the schedule. More parent detail: Kids Jiu-Jitsu in Pleasanton. First-night adult detail: Beginner BJJ.

Some Dublin kids first hear about jiu-jitsu through city rec catalogs or Las Positas College community-ed flyers. Those are discovery paths. Academy membership is separate; if you want the GRA week (Sprouts, Buds, Fundamentals), start with a trial at Suite F. Membership options are on pricing.

The room, not a slogan

I founded Ground Rules in 2024. I’m a black belt with twenty years of teaching, and I still teach chemistry at Las Positas College. Class is taught so you understand the mechanics — not a pile of moves to memorize and forget in the car ride back up 580. We don’t just teach techniques. We teach why they work: leverage, base, friction, center of mass. That story is on About and in The Book.

We are a JG Academy / Aspire to Inspire affiliate (2026). That lets you visit sister mats, including SubCulture / JG Livermore and other JG schools. It is a network, not a Dublin branch and not a second GRA address. I wrote the affiliation note here: GRA Joins JG Academy.

Other Tri-Valley drives we already serve: Pleasanton (home gym), Livermore, San Ramon. Questions before you come? Contact us or call/text (925) 400-8805.

Ready to train? I’d love to welcome you and your family to the mats for a free trial class.
